She is a Pitt mix. (Most likely Pitt/Boxer/Lab). She was an abandoned puppy found under a porch in Detroit. She was very skittish and a bit skinny when we got her from the rescue. I've unfortunately had a tough time with the changeover and I long to have the old Educator system back. I dread logging into my classes using Sakai cause I am immediately overwhelmed and frustrated. (I use a variety of programs personally and through my job...and after working 45+ hours a week with troublesome software/applications, I'm in no mood to deal with it while furthering my education and paying $750 a class for it - it's my philosophy that if I have to deal with troublesome software, the developers should pay me)! ;)

At first, I thought this would be a great change to Educator, because Educator was pretty simplistic and fairly old. (I remember taking an online class at my community college in 2004/2005 and it was the same one). However, it was functional, easy to use, and had some features that I am missing with Sakai.

Forums: The entire Forums main page hits you like a ton of bricks as it is very overwhelming and unorganized. The main topics show subtopics and crowds the page. As the main topics are divided into Weeks (in the two classes I am currently taking) each main topic takes up 2-3 inches of screen space and requires scrolling through the entire page to see all the main topics. It would be beneficial just having the main topics show as clickable links that you could expand or be clickable to a new page where we would then see the instructors main post as well as the posts of our peers. (The gaming forums I maintained had better organization and where easier to navigate as well as view than Sakai). Educator's Forums (Discussion Boards) were way superior than Sakai.

There is also no way to track where you posted on the Forums. In order to do that, one must expand every message and utilize CTRL+F and search for your name or alternatively write it down on paper or in Word who you responded to and what day. I loved the feature in Educator where I could look at my participation and look where I had posted as well as the time. This is a feature that needs to be implemented.

Opening up multiple tabs of Sakai - I made the mistake of typing up one of my course responses in the forum text box. I wanted to reference something in the original post (not the one I was replying to). Clicked on Forums from a new tab and was brought to a blank response box (while in my other tab, I had my nearly completed response) I navigated back to the post I wanted to reference and finished typing in my first tab and clicked submit. My response was no where to be found. It is very useful to be able to open up multiple tabs and view the thread in its entirety...however I only trust typing everything up in Word and then copying and pasting over after this mishap. My other complaint with the Sakai text box for forums, it does not allow you to right click on a misspelled word to correct it, but makes you run through the spell check (which constantly is adding words and shows something completely different than what I have entered in the text box). I expected it to work again like a regular forum or anything within a browser.

Messaging: I do not like that it is separated by class. There are no notifications unless you set it up to send a copy of messages received to an email address. In Educator, a notification would appear at the top of the screen when you refreshed a page or logged in. Having separate "Message" inboxes for each class as well as not having notification is rather pointless. Why isn't the MyCampus Email utilized instead?

Assignments: The two classes I'm currently taking do not require you to upload a Word doc or copy your "forum posting assignment answer" into the text box on the Assignment Submission page. However, in order to submit and assignment for grading, there has to be something entered in that box. There should be nothing required in that text box in order to submit. It was not required in Educator. I took a fair amount of classes through Educator, and the reason they wanted us to submit was to notify them when we had completed our posts and it was a convenient time-stamped record of when we finished.

Grades - I'd like to see a letter grade next to the percentage as well just like in Educator as well as the percentage of assignments completed etc.

I've been using Sakai for about 5 weeks now, and as I mentioned earlier, I dread logging into my classes because of it.

I really fail at blogging. Last night, I was the attempted "victim" of a internet scam. I wouldn't have fallen for it, but it is the first time someone has tried to pull one of these on me. (I'm sometimes gullible, but not that gullible).

I have decided that I would like a new laptop. My current laptop is in excellent condition, but it's time for something new and shiny. Best Buy and various other electronic stores have ridiculous deals right now on laptops. I found one that is smaller and has the power I want. However, I cannot afford to buy it, unless I sell my current one. (Which makes sense, I'm not going to get caught in the credit card trap anymore!!!)

So I posted my laptop on Craigslist. Had someone who was interested. And someone who wanted me to send it to their son, after paying extra for shipping. Both Chris and I thought it a bit strange, but as long as the money ended up in my PayPal account, I was indifferednt to who was the purchaser.

I created a PayPal Buy It Now button and emailed it to the customer. I was not alarmed by the customers misspelling, for the fact is that for my job, I communicate via email with many non-English speaking people, and the email looked for the most part normal.

My quick glance at the PayPal emails did not raise an alarm at first, only for the fact is that I saw something with PayPal and went to go look in my PayPal account right away. As soon as I saw no pending transactions, that's when it started to get fishy. I took a closer look at the email. As my boyfriend pointed out, there was the $625.00 for the laptop, but the total with shipping read $825.00. I didn't think much of it at first, and I dismissed that discrepancy at first. Then, after seeing the misspellings in the email, as well as lack of punctuation, or punctuation in the wrong spot, I remember that I had created the button as a straight $825 with the shipping combined, not separate. I looked at the email address from which this PayPal email was sent from. It was definitely not a @paypal.com address. I looked closely at the subject line, the word "Verification" was spelled "Vrification." Everything then screamed SCAM!!!!!!

I called PayPal right away, as I wasn't sure how to deal with this person. They informed me to forward the fraudulent emails to spoof@paypal.com. I asked how I was going to handle the person who wanted the laptop, they told me to ask them for a PayPal receipt number, as well as say in the email that I had been in contact with PayPal and that the emails had been identified as fraudulent. I think it scared them, as PayPal said it would.

I sent the email back to this person at around 11:00 PM last night, and I've yet to hear anything back. In the meantime, I have received 3 more emails from people interested in my laptop. They are all poorly misspelled, as well as with choppy English. I don't think I want to reply. I'll sell my laptop to someone in person.

It almost seems that Craigslist is just a harem of scammers. The majority of jobs posted are the get rich quick schemes. Albeit, some job postings are legit, but most are of the get rich quick persuasion.

But take this as a lesson, those who deal with buying and selling over the internet. Beware poor spelling, punctuation and grammar. Beware deals too good to be true. Do not ship until the money is in your bank account. And if you're buying, only use a trusted source to handle your money. Those escrow sites are scams. Use only PayPal or cash.

I generally do not get political....

This is something you should really see. She's gearing up quite nicely. Illhoof finally dropped the Terestian's Stranglestafflast Tuesday. So I was a very very happy druid!

Also, my darling boyfriend surprised me with an early birthday present. I am a proud owner of a Dark Whelping. =D

And this past weekend, I finally pushed for the last few Coilfang instances I needed to become Exalted with the Cenarion Expedition. I finally got Earthwarden. (My boyfriend gave me the gold I needed :D) Since my hunter is an enchanter, I had all the mats to get them both enchanted with +35 Agility.

I have pretty much everything from Kara. (That leather DPS helm off of Nightbane would be sweet). I'm working on getting the badges for the sweet leather chest.

I have been a lazy druid and have not bothered to farm the mats for the boot and belt. I need to do that....I just haven't felt like it. I almost feel like, WTLK will be coming soon, why even bother spending the time on gear that will be obsolete in a few levels. Am I wrong in thinking this?

I'm really only raiding Karazhan still. I should start signing up for ZA now. (I also hate committing that many nights to raiding....) I think I have decent enough gear. Cahtch (here is my armory just for crits'n'giggles - that's my tanking gear btw (and I'm going to be replacing the armour enchant, for agility on my cloak)). DPS-wise, I'm doing good. I'm beating my rogue friend. LOL!! BUT I do have a quick question regarding my tanking gear, is hit rating something I should be looking for? (Should I regem, etc). I'm hit-capped in DPS gear, and I'm bearly (pun intended) uncrittable (-.5 something) in tanking gear, and my hit rating is really lacking.

I'm seriously thinking of trying to start dual-boxing. I've read everyone's entries, and it sounds exhilarating. I have the two accounts, I even have two computers. (I would so love to do the recruit a friend to get the Zehvra, but having three accounts would be madness. My level 36 (almost 37) warlock has been getting some love, and I'd love for my lvl 24 pally to get some too.

But I am a happy WoW player, and am slightly accomplished in my WoW Life. Still, there is so much to do and so little time. (And it makes me kinda happy, when I armory my druid, there is no one else with my name with its particular spelling).

And for fun, here are some screenshots I found on my computer!

My early birthday present!

Cahtch in her DPS gear.

w00t! I thought it was thought provoking, and it also made me glad that I chose not to get vaccinated.
Even though it's a small number of incidences, it makes you wonder, because those people did not have to suffer or die. With many new drugs out there...do I smell a conspiracy!? :P
Enjoy the article! If you disagree, let's have a educated discussion. And if anyone who is reading this, did you get vaccinated? I want to hear your experience.

MERCK MADNESS

By Judie Brown

Call it a hunch, but those of us at American Life League who have been studying pharmaceutical giant Merck's marketing plan for Gardasil, commonly known on television by its "one less" mantra, have been suspicious for some time. Apparently, we were right to be less than ecstatic about this latest scheme for "protecting" young women from the human papillomavirus. Just yesterday, Judicial Watch, a public interest group that investigates government corruption, exposed the findings in new documents they obtained from the federal Food and Drug Administration pertaining to the vaccine's adverse effects. What have those adverse reactions included? Here is a partial list:
10 deaths have been reported since September 2007. The total number of death reports is at least 18 and as many as 20.
Just since January 2008, the following incidents have been reported:
140 "serious" reports, 27 of which were categorized as "life-threatening,"
10 spontaneous abortions and
six cases of Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
For those with a keen interest in this matter, the complete 25-page document prepared by Judicial Watch is online at http://nvs.all.org/sendstudio/link.php?M=3846&N=331&L=1402&F=H. The Alliance for Human Research Protection has been on the case for at least the past 18 months and is equally concerned about the possible jeopardy that children will be in if parents don't take this matter seriously and become familiar with this vaccine's side effects.
But perhaps the best resource for parents, and without a doubt the most comprehensive collection of information on this out-of-control situation, is Children of God for Life. They specialize in vaccine news and have not overlooked the Gardasil mess. Among all the excellent articles you can find, there is one that exposes the truth about cervical cancer and the effect Gardasil actually could have on cervical cancer prevention. Remember that Gardasil is designed to protect a young woman from the human papillomavirus, which is alleged to be a cause of cervical cancer.
But what Cynthia Janek uncovered in her research is that "…the FDA knew back in 2003 that a HPV is not the actual cause of cervical cancer. The actual cause is a 'persistent HPV infection that may act as a tumor promoter in cancer induction.'"
Further, she examines the statements on record at the FDA and tells the reader,
What we have here is proof that there is scientific evidence that has been published in the past 15 years that states that HPV infection does not bear a direct relationship to the forming of cervical cancer. It also tells us that HPV, if allowed to will be taken care of by our own body's natural processes. . ."most infections are short-lived and not associated with cervical cancer." With this being said, why do we need Gardasil when our own body is more than capable of eradicating HPV? What we need is a government policy to assist women with the cost of getting follow-up tests when persistent HPV infection is present. This would make more sense and our government would save so much money on these types of programs instead of $360 each for the Gardasil vaccination.
It could well be that the vaccine may not do a thing to protect anyone from cervical cancer, regardless of the claims being made by Merck Pharmaceutical. What the vaccine is causing is death and immense suffering among those who have been vaccinated.
When I read the Judicial Watch report, it occurred to me that the Food and Drug Administration might already be having second thoughts about this vaccine. Just one week ago, federal regulators advised Merck that they would not approve Gardasil for expanded marketing to an older group of women.
The news report tells us that Gardasil is currently approved for preventing cervical cancer and genital warts in females aged 9-26. It also tells us, as if this is any surprise, that Gardasil "has been one of Merck's most successful newer products and has helped the company recover after the 2004 withdrawal of its Vioxx arthritis treatment."
Remember the Vioxx recall? The withdrawal of Vioxx marks the biggest drug recall in history. The three year trial was originally aimed at showing Vioxx's effectiveness at reducing polyps in the colon, however the study revealed an increased risk of heart attack and other cardiovascular problems. Merck stopped the study after it discovered that participants taking Vioxx had twice the risk of heart attack than other participants taking placebos. The study showed the increased risk of heart attack began 18 months after patients started taking Vioxx. Medical experts advise Vioxx users to consult their doctor about alternatives.
Imagine it! And now that we know that young women are dying and suffering a host of side effects from Gardasil, we can only hope that, as it did for Vioxx, Merck announces a recall and that Gardasil will soon be just a memory.
Judie Brown is president of American Life League and a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life.

I am getting too drawn in...

Well, nothing really exciting has been happening lately. I'm still at C21, I still hate it, and I've had no luck finding anything different. I don't know why I can't find anything better. I know there is stuff out there. I want to know what happened to me. I've had numerous interviews, but I always feel so tongue-tied. As I was talking to mom, I think it has to do with I'm by myself at work all the time, and don't really have to communicate with anyone so I'm starting to lose it. Which is very probable. The more isolated I become, the more introverted I wish to be.

All I do is go to work. I just don't feel like doing much else. I hang out with everyone when we hang out. It's fun. It's interesting though how everyone is/has changed since meeting them way back when. I'm trying to get myself motivated to get my bum off the computer to go do other things. It's probably just an excuse, to say that after a stupid ridiculous day at work, I'm too stressed and annoyed to want to do anything except play WoW for a few hours to kill things in a fantasy world that I'd love to harm in real life.

I've had a lot of fun with WoW lately. I xfered to Thunderhorn on both Cahtch and Chaen. Cahtch has essentially become my main. I'm in a casual raiding guild. I've been to Karazhan a few times and have loved it. This past time I was Official Off-Tank. It was amazing. Girls can tank!!!! :P

Only wiped twice, due to me getting critted several times in a row on Curator and the healers couldn't keep up, and once on Nethersprite because I couldn't get the beams down right the first time, and it was more a learning experience the first time and a purposeful wipe. We nailed it the second time.

I've gotten some really nice gear. On Cahtch I've gotten: Worgen Claw NecklaceDPS Set
Gloves of Dexterous ManipulationDPS/Tanking Set
Signet of Unshakable FaithResto Set
Mitts of the TreemenderResto Set
Forest Wind ShoulderpadsResto Set
Gilded Thorium Cloak Tanking Set
Drape of the Dark ReaversDPS Set
Chestguard of the ConniverDPS Set
Earthsoul LeggingsResto Set
Bladed Shoulderpads of the MercilessDPS Set
Forestlord StridersResto Set
Zierhut's Lost TreadsDPS Set
Shermanar Great-RingTanking Set

On Chaen (who's only been to Kara once, and will go again tonight): Stalker's War Bands

I've been a viable loot whore. LOL. But really, they tell me to roll. Most everyone is quite well geared, so I get to roll on quite a bit. With not being specced completely Resto, I'm hitting over 1000 +heal in my healy gear.

I'm uncrittable in my tanking gear now, and just need to up the stamina and get some badges and honor points so I can just steadily upgrade. I'm going to get the Idol of Terror tonight I think. It'll set me back a few badges. But it will help a bit. Need to make some more armour kits as well.

DPS wise, I think I could use a bit of improvement. I don't think I did too shabby this time considering most of the time I was switching in and out of Kitty to Bear Form and vice versa.

And I had the funniest thing said to me by our raid leader the other day.

(I'm a Tauren Druid...hence the udder joke).

My hunter is a different story. She's ridiculously PVP geared at the moment. I lack a lot of hit rating to do well in PVE. I'm bringing her to the late night raid tonight. Keep your fingers crossed for the bow off of Prince. Though I did upgrade to the Revered SSO bow the other day instead. So that should help a bit.

I also started a paladin. I am squishy. I'm trying to figure out all these seals and such. She's only lvl 16, but I'm enjoying her so far. I'm thinking of transferring my 29 'lock over. Not sure yet. Can't do it for awhile because I lack funds. But I have enough stuff to keep me busy.

In other news, there really is nothing. Chris is taking an A+ Class to become A+ certified. I just hope he passes and can pass the test to become certified which will be totally awesome.

Well....that's it for now. :)

First Time in Kara.

Well, my transfer went all well and good. I figured I'd just chill the first couple of days I was in the new guild, get to know everyone, sart reading up on how to run Kara. Work on grinding leather for my heavy clefthoof set. Just a few laid back days to get the feel of the new server and new guild. (And eep, I know I've been posting a lot the past few days, but a lot has gone on for me in WoW).

I was wrong!

First off, I'm in Netherstorm doing the dailies and a couple of quests I needed to finish up at Manaforge Ara.
I had thrown myself in the LFG channel because I needed more Lower City rep and wanted to finish some quests I had in Slabs. After 5-10 minutes in LFG, I was bombarded with whispers to join PUGs. That never happened on Draka. I'd sit in LFG for an hour or more. Help them kill Blackheart the Inciter, pick up Moonglade Handwraps. (They were going to be sharded, and they were an upgrade for my healing set).

In the meantime, I'm getting "welcome to the guild" whispers from my new guildmates and then one of them asks if I want to go to Kara. (I know Kara isn't that big of a deal anymore, but I have no raiding experience so I want all I can soak up). I apologize to the PUG group I'm in (I felt really bad about winning the gloves and then having to drop the group because the guild wanted to take me on their Kara run). Had to DL Vent and get that all set up still! (I feel so awkward talking on Vent!)

Full clear (they said) except for Nightbane (because no one was able to summon him) in 3.5 hours.

I only died 3 times. Once, because I got lost at the beginning and turned the wrong way into a group of mobs. Second time was because of Prince's enfeeble, ran the wrong way at first and couldn't get out in time. And the third was from the elementals that Prince drops. We only wiped once, and that was on Prince.

I got two shiny purples. Zierhut's Lost Treads and Drape of the Dark Reavers

The Stranglestaff dropped too. And the raid leader had been waiting for it to drop for ages. And HE wanted me to roll on it too! I was like are you kidding? I'm new, you've been waiting for it. I've already have gotten two purples, you take it! And a pair of pants dropped off of Nethersprite and I lost the roll to a rogue. But wow...two epics! I had so much fun and everyone was very nice and helpful. I also got 20 Badges of Justice! (Haven't done any heroics, so that was my first bunch).

My DPS kinda sucked, I was above our pally tank, but below the druid tank. I sat at about 298 DPS, then I got the upgrades and I bumped it up to 310. Which is most likely pretty bad, but I'm in really crappy gear. They said I did a good job considering I was new, hadn't read anything yet, and was in subpar gear. So that made my night!

I WILL do this!

I am going to make a very large and sincere effort to do two things this year!

I'm going to start taking classes again. I feel like I have a case of the "dumb" since I've not been attending class for the past year and a half. And I'm going to find a major, and actually stick with it and get my Bachelor's Degree.

I am going to lose this damn weight I put on. I do not like the fact that my stomach and butt are the size of the Titanic. (Boobs, you can stay big, pretty please?!?) Fat, you kept me warm over the winter, but now it's time to vamoose. You've been in places that aren't pleasant too long.

My goal is to be size 16. I want to drop at least 20 pounds to start. And I'd like to not have "Dunlops Disease" or have some "Muffin Toppin'" going on around there. And once that is accomplished, I'll get an inverted navel piercing.

And life will be good.

...

I'm upset. I shouldn't be, but I am. I essentially ratted my little brother's friend out because he smokes weed. And my brother for his excessive amount of drinking he's done in the past year.
The problem is, I'm 21...I'm legal to buy alcohol. Mike is only 19, and not very legal at all except in Canada. As of a few weeks ago, his drinking wasn't a bit deal, until he came home so shitfiaced, he puked all over his keyboard and consequently ruined it.
I had been buying them beer. Obviously they paid for it. I felt a little bad about it, because it is illegal to supply minors with alcohol. But I know they'll get it somewhere, and I can always drill into them that they shouldn't be idiots about drinking.
But last weekend, his friend lit up around me. It was very disconcerting. I had drugs. I don't like the fact that they make you stupid, and that people do it because it's cool. My own brother should have known better than to let his friend light up in front of me. It boiled down to, if we got caught, a: we'd all go to jail because we were around, and then we'd go to jail for trespassing on government property!!
I wasn't going to say anything. I was like oh, well, his life. But then my mom was discussing with me how my brother has yet to find a job for the summer. (Yes I know the economy is tight). And my dad had set up an interview for him with one of the places that advertised with him. (My dad is great for getting into places because he knows a lot of people after being in advertising for so many years). Well, my brother didn't go. He had spent the afternoon golfing with a friend.
There gets to be a point when you start blowing of real priorities to go have some fun. So me and Chris said something to my mom about it. (If there is anyone anti-drugs and drinking, it's Chris because he knows first hand what it does). Well, Mike is pissed at me. I feel depressed, because it feels like the only reason people like me is because I have something they need/want/or can use. And it's depressing. And he's my fucking sibling for crying out loud. I have been worried about him. He doesn't know how lucky he is to have college paid for, and that mom didn't insist on him getting a job to help start paying back his tuition that she had to put on a credit card.
I've been working since the day I graduated high school. I did some part time work at a stable and I babysat too. I played my violin. I had odd jobs through high school. The day I turned 18 I put in an application for the local gas station so I could get a decent paying job. Before that, I worked as Data Entry for a small heating and cooling business.
Yeah, I've job hopped a lot. I'm trying to find my niche. Yeah, I know I'm not in school at the moment, and that's only because I've been liable for the cost since I graduated high school 4 years ago. I never had any scholarships and mom and pop would't co sign for any of my loans.
I just feel so lost. I'm mad that I couldn't be a better influence.

My Body Hates Me

Yes, my body does indeed hate me. Two weeks ago on a Friday, I'm all night with the most excruciating bladder pain and having to pee all the time. And blood to boot. Well, I called into my doctor for a prescription and got one. Everything seemed hunky dory after swallowing what seemed like gallons of cranberry juice (yuck) and taking a round of anti-biotics until later that week.

Same story, having to pee uber bad when there was no pee left. Horrible pain and a irritated perineum to boot. Why an irritated perineum I have no idea. A friend recommended the over the counter UTI pills until I could get to the doctors that Monday. (That is this past Monday). Holy shit it turned my pee a very bright orange, but the pain was still slightly there. I go to the doctor's on Monday, they *think* it's a UTI, but their primitive tests were inconclusive so my ginormous urine sample was to be sent off for more testing. On top of it, my BV had come back.

Now what's this BV you say? BV is Bacterial Vaginosis. Very nasty stuff. Basically the pH levels in my hoohoo have decided to change and be annoying little buggers. I've been battling this since this January. Let me tell you it is not fun at all. It would go away and then it would come back right after a period. (I think that blood is to blame, personally).

So right now, I've got a ghost period it seems. I've had the crampies for the past few days. I'm on the sugar pill week and the blasted thing has yet to come! Uterus I'm warning you!! You better spew that stuff out soon or there will be hell to pay!

This better be just a case of the new BC going from monophaisic (sp?) to the triphaisic pills. Lord knows I do not want, repeat, do not want the amount of cramps and blood without being on those things. It was horrible not knowing the joys of hormonal controlled periods. But damnit, give me my period so I can hope that this BV will be gone once and for all.

The UTI was resistant to the first round of anti-biotics, and therefore was blamed for the BV coming back. And I got the call from the doctor telling me about I still have the UTI and I'm on more antibiotics.

I hate my body and it hates me.

WTB New body! PST!

**Ding** Another character to level 70!

Well, it has been awhile. I keep meaning to blog, and I really want to write, but I always forget or just decide not to.

Well, I dinged level 70 on my second character in World of Warcraft. Cahtch is now a level 70 Feral Tauren Druid. I'm not sure what she will be doing endgame. A part of me wants to tank, yet another part of me wants to try and heal. I've got Chaen to DPS, since she's a BM Hunter. Even though Kitty DPS is a lot of fun. Prowling and mangling away.

The Ding Shot

I did it in 13 days, 11 hours, 6 minutes and 35 seconds. That was really quick considering Chaen was at 22 days, 2 hours, 52 minutes and 13 seconds when I hit 70 on her. And supposedly hunters are really quick and easy to level.

My eventual goal is to get a level 70 of each class. I'm running two accounts so I can boost my lowbies through dungeons without having to group.

I'm learning to tank still. It's fun. I enjoyed Mana Tombs a lot. I hope they liked me. I was still trying my best towards the end, but I think the DPS were getting a bit carried away. I had a hard time keeping aggro. I think it was because everything had been so easy and we were flying through it. I was also the highest level.

I switched Chaen to enchanting so I'll have an in-house enchanter. I'm glad the Blood Elves get that racial bonus. I'll have to do some dailies on her, as she only has 50 some odd gold on her atm. (Maybe even less cause I just bought a bunch of stuff to DE).

I'm debating whether to work towards the Epic Flight Form for Cahtch. I need 5000 gold to do so. So many decisions.

I need to buy a radio or get a newspaper subscription...

I just found out today that Charleton Heston died....And he died last Saturday. Everyone is making them out to be victims. Yes, it's sad that they died. But they deserved it. They were screwing around and acting irresponsibly while driving down a ridiculously busy road! They're victims of their own stupidity.

Reading articles like this makes my blood boil. Yes, I was a teen driver at one time. But I knew the risks and I've seen accidents, I'd been in a few minor fender benders (mind you, as a passenger). Only accident I've been in, was when a new teenage driver wasn't paying attention and rearended my Neon, totalling it. Luckily no one was hurt, but she was a idiot.

I know there is the teenage "god" mode where you think nothing can hurt you, but it isn't there. You're just as vulnerable as the rest of society. And when you pull stupid antics like that, there are consequences. And this time, their actions ended in their death and injury of others. Take responsibility, you're no victims, except of your own stupidity and so-thought immortality.

I don't understand this....

This is something I've never understood about people. (Note this is just a generalization, I'm not using real people, I've just read about this).

Let's start with a group of people made up of all backgrounds, ethics, morals, you name it. Some of the people disagree with others. Fine, that is life. And you have some that get along no matter what. Until something happens. One of the people can mess up in life, be it bad decisions or what have you. Everyone still accepts that person and doesn't make a big deal out of the mishaps. Then you have the one person who has been understanding of everyone. Deep down they might not agree with everything, but they feel friendship outweighs being overt about their personal beliefs. That person makes a mistake. And it is the biggest deal in the world. And the mistake was a small one. Rather insignificant compared to the mistakes of others. Yet it is a big deal. Is it because that person has accepted everyone else and was supposed to be above making mistakes? Why can't they be as understanding and not critical as this person was when they were going through their troubled time.

This is just one of those things that's always bothered me.

Life goes on.........

Sometimes it feels like the future will never get here, as silly as that sounds.

I know it's going to take awhile to get back on my feet after I go through with this bankruptcy stuff. I really hate to do it. But I was a stupid, idiot teenager, thinking I was invincible to the evils of debt and credit cards.

Essetially, because I was linked to my parents credit history via having their credit cards in my name for gas in high school, I was approved for every credit card under the sun. I was doing ok. I paid for my car using my credit limit. I fear actual loans for no apparent reason. Same with school. I also spent money I didn't have on worthless junk.

I was doing ok until I made a job switch that unfortunately lowered my income a small amount, but it was enough. I have talked to a couple of my credit card companies, but for the most part I've avoided my calls. I've overdrafted my checking account several times trying to appease them while pleading, please lower my payment.

I went to a credit counseling place, I was deficit each month by a substantial amount. They recommended a second job, or bankruptcy. I kept my eye out for a week for a second job (Chris has been working with the state to get a job, but it's been slow going). But with my work schedule's unpredictability and the hours I'm currently working, I'd have to work nights. Nights means no sleep. No sleep means a very grumpy Kitty. Grumpy Kitty = Not a good thing. Also, no time to play WoW, my one indulgence.

I decided to talk to my cousin about Bankruptcy, since he was a lawyer. He recommended me to a very nice gentleman that actually goes to St. Pete's. (Might have a gig coming my way as well, since he was a musician. hehe).

I've weighed the pros and cons. I've talked to other people in my age bracket that the same thing has happened to them. I don't feel so alone now. Out of my family, only my mother knows. She's against it and would rather me work with the credit card companies. But I hate talking to them because they're a) all foreign, and b) when I have talked to them, they can't do anything for me.

When I talked to the lawyer he was neither for it or against my doing so. He gave me the facts straight up. (He also gave me his price, straight up, which the other firm I had called wouldn't do...)

I think I am going to go through with it. I have to get my affairs in order. I need my '07 taxes done (which will be done tonight) along with my bills and other forms he gave me. Compared to the fee I will have to pay and the mark on my credit history to my current debt this will be a relief. I won't stress anymore. I'll actually be able to save some money to get a house. Because damnit, I want a house and a dog. No more cats. They are evil.

I talked to him about reestablishing my credit, and he says it's very easy, many of his clients get the preapproved cards in the mail still and that the 10 year black mark is not neccesarily true. (I do know after three years you can buy a house with conventional financing. HAHA). I don't neccessarily want to wipe out all my cards. The stupid littel balance cards I will take care of. (IE. Old Navy, Fashion Bug, etc).

One could easily point out that I could move back home and continue saving money that way and not have to go the bankruptcy route. Fair point. I can never move back home. The stress of living at home is too great compared to this even. (And the lack of cable internet...HAHA). I'm a fairly independent gal and as my mother told me of this whole situation and just of me in general, I have to re-invent the wheel. I won't go by other's opinions and life experiences, I have to find out for myself. (Which does get me into trouble sometimes).

Chris has an opportunity to get A+ certified and has several job openings available to him if he passes. So that is exciting! And I'm thrilled that he's coming out of his shell.

All in all, life goes on. You hopefully learn from mistakes you've made. I know I have. I hate to go this route, yet I know I need to, because it is the only way I'll be able to realize the rest of my dreams. (I will go back to school and I will own my own house with a dog :D )

Horde Bag - A Knitting Project

Well, I'm attempting to actually knit something again. I tried to knit Christmas presents, but I got fed up and never finished a thing.

Anyhoo....

On Ravelry, someone came up with the Horde Symbol to knit as intarsia or fair isle or whatever it's called. Soooo....someone actually made a bag using it. I think it was with Zweeby's Bag from SnB. I have the bag pattern, and I've never done any sort of color work, so I thought WTH, let's attempt something.

I've got about 18 rows done of just the black. I'm trying to knit more, but WoW gets in the way. I need to figure a way to incorporate my WoW & knitting time somehow. Maybe while I'm waiting for BGs to pop...Hmmm....

But this should be an interesting adventure. I've been stressed since July. Essentially when I moved in with my boyfriend. It's not him that is making me stressed. Not at all. What made me stressed were his female acquantinces/friends/exes whatever. I've always tried to not be a jealous person.

I know I've always been on the heavy side so that has always affected my self-esteem and self-image. I thought that no one would ever like me and that I would be doomed to spinsterhood. I was teased by family about my weight and others. It's not fun. Not at all. I'm sorry I don't like lettuce. And no, I'm not going to eat it, it makes me want to puke.

I did ok for awhile on WW. But felt like I was starving myself...Not kosher. Lost 10 lbs, but as soon as I started to actually eat, it all came back and then some.

I don't think I'll ever be skinny at this rate. I have no motivation to get off my ass and start working out. It's like what's the point? I'm never going to keep it off. Even though I don't eat that much, and I've scaled back on junk food. Hell, I'm lucky if I eat three times a day. I try not to eat a lot of candy. I don't drink loads of milk. I cut out eating Reeses Puffs for breakfast. I eat a small portion of Honey Bunches of Oats, if I even get around to breakfast.

Lunch, yes, I love potatoes. I wish I could live off potatoes and garlic and cheese. I'd be in heaven. I love applesauce. I love the crunchiness of potatoe chips. Is this where I'm failing? Because I like to eat this....

I don't know why I can't lose it....I feel so ugly. And it bothers me that Chris has all these "cute" friends. I don't like wearing make-up. 3/4s of the time it makes my eyes water and itch. Even the hypoallergenic stuff. I don't think my round face is very pretty. I do like my eyes. My lips are huge, my teeth are splotchy from an OD of flouride when I was younger. My boobs are ok. One is slightly different than the other. But I have a huge tummy, huge ass, and huge thighs.....
Even when I lost that bit of weight everything felt huge still.

But the stress might have something to do with the weight staying on...I'm stressed about money. Very stressed. We're so very broke. And I have ALOT of debt from before. I'm only 21, but Chapter 7 sounds very tasty.

I just don't know what to do.........I feel so lost. Lately, he's been wondering where my mind has been. I thought I had a day off when I didn't. I always feel so distracted. I just don't feel like even existing........

I made WoW Insider

One of my posts to wow_ladies in livejournal was the inspiration for an article on WoW Insider. But I can't do anything about the heat in here because it's in the other office, and that side is warm, so the lady who's over there won't turn it up. But at least I have my afghan in my lap. That's warm. But my hands are freezing. My joints hurt so bad....I feel like I'm getting arthritis. Anyhoo........
There are so many cool things to customize in the World of Warcraft.
There is awesome character customization, you change your outfits. Sometimes they happen to look reprehensible with all the clashing colors or the chest piece with 54234587998745 armour, but is the size of a bikini top...which doesn't make much sense at all.
There are so many nifty UI mods for WoW. Some are so streamlined and spartan, some have stuff anywhere.
Most are easy to use, but sometimes I get frazzled with them. But I have almost gotten my perfect UI. I wish I was smart enough to do more coding and fiddling. But that will come with time.
So, here is my current UI setup.

I'm using:

Bartender3
Xperl
Omen
Recount (Not Shown)
Auctioneer/Enchantrix
Titan Panel
Deadly Boss Mods

I think I'm going to be getting shortly will be Cartographer, Decursive, and Outfitter.
That will have to wait until I get home though.
I got an external hard drive yesterday to back up my computer. So Chris and I will be totally wiping my compy and restarting from scratch. Hopefully it will run a bit better. We also just put another gig of ram in it. It's a pretty sexy computer. Over the summer we upgraded the graphics card and sometime in the fall I bought a new wide-screen monitor. I'm really rocking.
I found something nifty at Best Buy last night as well. It's called the Wacom Bamboo Fun Small. It's a touch pad, stylus and mouse that you can use to edit pictures, draw and write. I can't wait to try it out. This means I really need to learn how to use Photoshop. It came with Photoshop Elements and Corel. I'm excited. I've envied the people who can use Photoshop and do all that cool art and stuff for WoW. Now I can learn too!
I've completed the library collection of WoW books. We now have all of them, including the Bestiary and both Dungeon Guides. w00t!
I also am going to attempt Warcraft III. Looks awesome. I can't wait to get home. I have so much nifty stuff to fiddle with.
I swear there is not enough time in a day to do everything I want to do. LOL.
I don't know if I would create a knew character or just start writing about Chaen's adventures.
I just want something to do....

Ding Lvl 70!!!!!

WoWScrnShot_020608_210547, originally uploaded by knittykitty3864.

Here is the screen shot of me right after dinging :) My Belf and her bony pony.

The Ups and Downs........

Well, it was pretty amazing, after playing WoW since 2006, I finally have a character at the level cap. I started Chaen back when The Burning Crusade expansion came out last January. She started out on Darrowmere, a pvp server. Both my boyfriend and friends wanted to move to a CST/EST server and still stay pvp so we moved to Azshara. After a few months on there, everyone wanted to go back the Draka, my first server, where my friends had higher lvl characters. So we moved again. Around this time I believe I was in my 40s/50s and pvp servers sucked at those lvls.

Well, after a year and about a month, last Wednesday, Chaen has hit lvl 70. It was amazing. I got my flying mount last night as well! Chris loaned me 80 gold and then I borrowed 53 from the guild bank...(Hey! I'll pay it back, I'm the GM anyway :P )

So I have a tawny windstrider. He's smexy. I don't know what I'll call him yet,.

And the down for the day....I lost a set of my keys. In fact, probably one of the most important sets of keys....My work keys and my parents house keys....... I get to work this morning, only to realize, I'm short a set on my keychain....WTF?!? I think they must have fallen off in the parking lot of my apartment. And by now, they've probably been plowed into a huge snow drift. And I felt like such an ass when I had to call my boss, (already 15 minutes late as it was, but that's not really my fault, as roads were bad, and they changed the location of where I was working today anyway...) and ask him what to do. Thank god there was a key around. So now, a lovely day at work. Because it's so slow here, I even shoveled the entire parking lot out front.

I've been here since 9AM and the phone has not rang once. Hopefully the day goes by quickly.

Just to let ya know

I know at the moment this blog doesn't pertain to knitting. I'm not all that interested in clothes, make-up, and celebrities (or whatever most people are into...I do LOVE shoe shopping, however).

I'm a geek. I wish I had more time to write. When I was little my dream was to become a mystery writer. I leave it to fate that I erased two entire finished books from the computer because I was not happy with them for whatever reason my 11 year old self had. I have never been able to rewrite them. They were to be a children's mystery, based off of The Bobbsey Twins and The Boxcar Children (and some of my own fantasized life).

I like to draw and paint. I feel though, sometimes that I just pretty much suck at everything.

I'm also a bit of a gamer.

I started out playing Rescue Word...which was a totally kick-ass word game. I loved Slipstream 5000, a futuristic racing game with scantily clad women that my mother dissapproved of. I liked Sonic but could never get through the first stage. (Yes, I suck). Command & Conquer is probably one of the few games I actually excelled at. Yes, sometimes I need a strategy guide, but it was fun. And playing Soviets was awesome. (I love being the bad guy sometimes...LOL).

Then I got addicted to The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. Absolutely loved it. Here was another game I was decent at. (Granted, my brother had to beat some of the bosses for me, I lack hand-eye coordination). Then came Legend of Zelda and Majora's Mask. That was fun as well. I had a crush on Link. :P

But the game of all games I got addicted to was World of Warcraft. *cue ominous music here*
